Braiding & Armouring

For added mechanical protection, cables can be braided with a galvanised steel wired braid (GSWB) or heavy tinned copper wire.

Braiding maintains a good degree of flexibility which may be important during installation or if the equipment needs to be moved for maintenance or subject to vibration.

Armouring is best suited for fixed installations and particularly direct burial into the ground.

0.9mm solid galvanised steel wires laid helically around the cable is cased in a heavy waterproof jacket provide one of the toughest cables around.

Both types of protection are sheathed with either an exterior grade PVC or PE jacket. LSHF sheaths for installations in sensitive areas are also available.

Standard cables can be braided or armoured for quantities as low as 100m.
