2491B & 6701B are flexible single core cables with class 5 stranding conforming to the harmonization standard H05Z-K and H07Z-K for low smoke halogen free single core cable. Applications include panel and conduit wiring where the flexibility makes installation easier.

Public and Government buildings are increasingly using LSHF cabling to reduce the risk of injury through smoke inhalation in the event of a fire.

 

The cables also produce less corrosive gases when burnt, which is particularly important where sensitive electronic equipment is installed such as in computer rooms.

Plain fine copper wire strands to BS6360 class 5. Thermo setting insulation of Low Smoke Halogen Free compound to BS7211.

This term is interchangeable with LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen), LSOH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen), OHLS (Zero Halogen Low Smoke) and FRNC (Flame Retardant Non-Corrosive). Beware of the terms LSF (Low Smoke and Fume) or RP (Reduced Propogation), when relating to signal or control cables will normally be modified PVC and produce 'Loads of Smoke and Fume'!
