Alarm Cables

Designed for inter-connecting sensors and control panels, alarm cables are widely used within the security industry. Manufactured in white or black as standard.

Other colours can be easily and quickly produced for quantities as low as 300m, to identify a circuit or blend with a colour scheme.

Cables held in stock include Low Smoke Halogen Free, Screened and Duct grade versions.

    

Construction

PVC :
Tinned copper wire strands, PVC insulation, PVC sheath.
LSHF :
Tinned copper wire strands, Low Smoke Halogen Free insulation, Low Smoke Halogen Free sheath.
Screened :
Tinned copper wire strands, PVC insulation, aluminium foil screen with tinned copper drain wire, PVC sheath.
Duct :
Tinned copper wire strands, PVC insulation, black LDPE sheath.
Standard Packing 100m, 200m & 500m spools

At FSC we refer to LSHF as Low Smoke Halogen Free

This term is interchangeable with LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen), LSOH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen), OHLS (Zero Halogen Low Smoke) and FRNC (Flame Retardant Non-Corrosive). Beware of the terms LSF (Low Smoke and Fume) or RP (Reduced Propogation), when relating to signal or control cables will normally be modified PVC and produce 'Loads of Smoke and Fume'!

Fire retardant, fire resistant, flame resistant or flame retardant?

These terms are often misunderstood. Most cables when exposed to fire will not carry on functioning. If you require cable to continue working in the event of fire, and in accordance with various standards please call us.
