About the Sales Apprenticeship Role 

We are looking to for an apprentice keen to work in and build a career in sales to join our growing team.  We are looking for a customer focused and committed apprentice with a can-do attitude and drive to succeed. For someone who is passionate about doing a good job and willing to continually learn, we will support you in your career progression.

This apprenticeship will not only give you on-the-job experience and coaching but you will also achieve a Level 3 IT Technical Sales Apprenticeship qualification leading to a number of different career progression routes within our UK and Global sales teams.

You will initially start your training in our Customer Service Team in order to learn the administration side of the Sales role and gain exposure to our clients. You will also have the opportunity to complete a 2 month rotation around the company learning about how all business functions operate and work together.

What are the main duties of the role? 

  • Communicate with UK customers on a day-to-day basis regarding enquiries and customer order queries
  • Manage existing customer accounts and proactively develop new business
  • Call prospects and generate own customer base
  • Ensure that customers are quoted and orders processed in a timely manner
  • Maintaining clear customer records on a computer system
  • Liaise with suppliers and freight companies
  • Liaising with departments within the organisation to ensure orders are processed and delivered on time
  • General administration duties, including filing and updating the necessary paperwork/ documentation
  • Additional Duties – You may from time to time also be involved in purchasing, customer and supplier meetings and attend exhibitions
  • Responsibilities – You should ensure that your efforts are aimed at achieving maximum customer satisfaction whilst working in harmony with your colleagues and having due regard to the health, safety and well-being of all concerned
  • Flexibility – As well as the core job functions listed above, you may well need to do other tasks within the company to ensure a smooth running and customer satisfaction, a positive attitude is essential

What are we looking for? 

  • Self-motivated and most importantly has a can-do attitude 
  • Eager to learn and achieve high standards 
  • Some previous experience in a customer facing role would be beneficial
  • Good understanding and experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Work and Outlook) 
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (Grade A-C or equivalent) 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Excellent attention to detail and comfortable working with numbers 
  • Proactive approach to work 
  • Assertive and unafraid to ask questions in order to support own learning
  • Enjoys working as part of a team
  • Prepared to commit your own time for study outside of business hours to further your career
